The Screenland Armour Theatre
Come Join Us To Explore and Learn More

The Screenland Armour was reborn in May of 2008, after a $1.5 million renovation. It has become the place for eats, drinks and movies in North Kansas City, offering 300 stadium style seats and a section of red leather recliners for movie-goers to enjoy.

The Screenland Armour Theatre was originally called the Armour Theatre and was built by the Devco Company in 1928. After changing names many times it ceased to operate as a movie theatre in the late 80's. It then took on the role of the Northtown Opry, home of live Country Opry Theatre. In 2005 North Kansas City purchased the theatre with the intent of restoring and preserving it as a motion picture theatre. With costs extending the City's budget they instead granted development rights to Screenland Theatre.

After an extensive renovation to restore the theatre to its original era including installation of a modern sound system, stadium seats and hand built doors, the theatre re-opened in 2008 with the premiere screening of Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull in Kansas City.

Join us at this great location to discover a place that truly contributes to the vitality of our Urban Core.
